We are very pleased to announce that  JUNK JUNK  has joined Clarity Environmental’s innovative national household WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) recycling network ‘Recycle with Clarity’.

Clarity is a group of associated businesses specialising in environmental compliance and recycling and is in the process of setting up a network of household WEEE recycling schemes around the country to offer the public a simple, easy and convenient way to recycle their household WEEE.

Under the arrangement, JUNK JUNK will provide doorstop collections of WEEE from homes in and around north London free of charge from Monday 3rd October 2011, which will be recycled in the most eco-friendly way possible.

A new micro-funding scheme for entrepreneurs that offers grants of up to £500 launched today, and JUNK JUNK has submitted an application!

Fund101, administered by Enterprise Nation and sponsored by Intuit and PayPal, allows small business owners to access the cash via a public voting process.

To secure the cash, business owners must receive votes equivalent to the amount of funding they want. Therefore to receive £500, applicants need to attract 500  votes.

Grants of between £50 and  £500 are available and Fund101 will give away up to £5,000 each month.

We are seeking £400 so please feel free to vote for us here as we have a long way to go!

After battling through driving rain and heavy London traffic, one of the teams reached JUNK JUNK’s first job to collect JUNK JUNK’s first load of junk – an old 3 piece suite!

Having been in the front garden for a few weeks, a group (the correct term is ‘escargatoire’, apparently) of frisky snails had taken up residence on (in?) it so the team carefully picked them off one by one and put them in a hedge so they could continue their amorous shenanigans in peace and quiet.

The team even picked up some litter that a fox (or a cat, or possibly even a rat) had left lying around after rummaging through a bin bag!

Now that’s what we call service!
